Welcome!
If you are new, you may have a lot of questions about what College Church is like.
We want to be a church where you can feel free to ask! We'd love to help you on
your journey of faith, no matter where you are. There are many ways to grow in
your understanding and faith here.
We want you to be comfortable and know that we are glad you came!

Here's some basic stuff:
Dress Code: We are just glad you are here, no matter what you wear. Well,
maybe not your swimsuit! Most people wear casual clothes. Some wear jeans or
shorts and some wear a tie if they want to. Whatever you are comfortable in
is fine. God is just glad you came!
People at College Church: We are a "church family" of people from all walks of
life, many just like you. We have people who have attended many other churches
and denominations and those who have never attended a church before this one.
We have questions of faith, we make mistakes, and we come from a variety of
backgrounds - in other words, we are just "normal". People who visit here
generally say they feel we are genuinely friendly and they felt welcomed.
They also say they love the music!
Our Messages: We try to keep it real! We believe church is where God calls
us to meet life head on with faith! So, yes, they are definitely based on the
Bible, but applied to how it fits your life. Sometimes life and faith bring
many questions (and hopefully some answers), but we want worship to be a place
where you find God's presence every week.
Our Services: We have a Contemporary Sunday Service at 9 A.M. which is
informal and led by our Pastor and Revelation, our talented praise band.
Our Traditional Service at 10:30 AM features great hymns and our talented
choir in a more traditional framework. Both have the same purpose: to
glorify God, to help you have a meaningful time in God's presence, and to
create a welcoming, accepting place for you.
Kids: Kids are always welcome at College Church! Some children attend
worship with their parents, some attend Kid's Power Hour at 9 AM, and for
the young ones, if parents choose, we have childcare provided. We have a
lot of them around and that is great!
Fellowship Time: You say you were in a hurry and didn't have time for
breakfast. No problem. We have Fellowship Time at 10:00 AM on Sunday
between services where you can find that cup of coffee or tea, or the fruit,
pastries, juice, etc. to get you started. It's on us!
Why is it called "College Church"? This church was started in the late
1800's when Central Wesleyan College was in Warrenton. There was also an
orphan's home for children of the Civil War here that later became Epworth
Children's Home in St. Louis which still serves children and youth today!
Many of the orphans, college students, and professors attended the church
so it became known as "College Methodist Church".
